Bali Map and Ciliks Beach Garden
Ciliks Beach Garden (CBG) is situated on the black - sand and volcanic - rock beaches of the north-eastern coast of Bali, several hundred metres from the little village Air Sanih (Yeh Sanih). Our resort has a central areal, where our Balinese partners are living and working and from where they are offering our CBG services. Two beach gardens of nearly one hectare size each, are attached for our guests along the beach line to the east and west. In these two private beach gardens two large villas and two smaller bungalows are located in the midst of well groomed tropical trees and flowers.
Our houses are embedded in tropical vegetation
We are only 3oo metres away from the public sweet-water pool right at the seaside, giving the village its name. A continuous, overgrown wall protects our property against noise from the coastal road. The next village, 8 km to the West, is Kubutambahan with a road climbing from here to the Batur-mountain area. Continuing along the coastal road, you reach Singaraja another 8 km further west, the old capital of Bali with Bali’s northern harbour, a large market and lots of shops. 15 km to the East is the old village of Tejakula. Ciliks Beach Garden and the area of Air Sanih are far away from the crowded centres of mass tourism. It may happen that you do not encounter other tourists for days. Our houses have been designed as to be in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural landscape and vegetation. Thus, there are open boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, you virtually live in the luxurious natural surroundings and enjoy the almost steadily blowing fresh breezes - a truly Balinese way of living. The open construction of the houses renders air conditioning quite superfluous. Still, large fans in every house and an air conditioning in the large villas assist the sea breeze.
The area is sheltered against precipitation by the Agung and Batur mountains and the climate is generally more arid and has more sunshine than southern Bali, where the weather is less predictable with rainy spells even during the dry season. In Air Sanih the weather is very often dry and friendly even during the rainy season from December to April, which allows you a pleasant stay even during this time. Since our property is located so close to the shore, we mostly have fresh sea breezes during daytime. House and garden are free of mosquitos most of the year; only during the rainy season at dawn you might have to use protection and sleep under a mosquito net. Seasonal ocean currents may affect and reduce the sand along the beach belonging to our property. However, even at high water level, the sea is usually calm and gentle that you may swim nearly every day, which is rather rare in Bali! Occasionally, during the months of August, January and February the sea can be rough, making swimming difficult. But during March to June and September to December the see is calm and ideal for swimming.
CBG is the ideal starting point to explore the close surroundings and this northern region to make the culture and nature of Bali an unforgettable part of your vacation. See more details in ‘Activities’ or in our websites www.bali-culture.de – www.bali-fishing.de and www.bali-hiking.de
